If you enjoy watching things grow and would like to support the soup kitchen, please consider growing some vegetables in our garden.   Plots are available for signup or you can help other gardeners.

Starting Your Church Garden is an information brochure for our Community Gardeners.

Our church gardeners plant whatever they wish and donate half of the harvest to Welcome INN.
All gardeners are welcome to participate with donations from home gardens.

This effort was inspired by Plant a Row for the Hungry, a national public service program developed in 1995 by the Garden Writers Association.  Participants in that program are asked to plant an extra row to their existing vegetable gardens and donate this surplus.

In 2009, the Sunday School began our program with one row (14×20) and donated 30lb.
In 2010, the community garden expanded to nine 9×12 plots and donated 501lb.
In 2011, the community garden expanded to twelve plots and donated 570lb.
In 2012, the community garden did not expand, and donated a lot of vegetables (and lost the scale :-).
In 2013, the community garden of 12 plots donated 420.5lb.
In 2014 and 2015, the community garden donated a lot of food.
