Sanctuary is one of the most ancient faith traditions that has been used in times of crisis.

The Office of Presbyterian Witness in Washington, D.C.,  the Synod of the Northeast, the Presbytery of Long Island and Long Island Jobs With Justice (a workers’ rights organization that advocates for immigrant rights) have been offering opportunities to learn about the different forms that sanctuary can take and how sanctuary can be used by faith communities on Long Island to support immigrants and their families.

There have been several lively conversations regarding the church’s role and another is scheduled on Thursday March 2.  If you’d like information, you can send your request using the contact form.
