Church School

Children in preschool through 6th grade are in worship until after the children’s message (about 9:45) and are in Sunday School until 10:45am-11:00am.

Form 4 – Church School and Child Care Registration

Youth Group

Youth Group uniquely offers time to step away from the pressures of school and other demands to be part of a community of people who support and encourage one another. It is an opportunity to reflect on life and faith, and friendships are formed that last a lifetime. We also find ways to serve our neighbors and the world. All junior and senior high age youth of the church, their friends, and youth from the community are welcome.

Please watch for additional emails containing further info on Youth Group and our Sunday Morning Jr High Program.

The first Sunday of the month meeting is at a member’s home.

The Youth Group typically meets from 6pm to 8pm Tuesdays at the church.

There is no Tuesday meeting after a Sunday meeting. The Tuesday meetings are not held during school holidays.

Please respond to email invitations.

Participants in the Youth Group are asked to complete and return Form 6 – Youth Group Registration. Parents are asked to sign up to cook dinner on at least two nights during the year. So that we can reimburse parents, we ask for donations for meals of $7 per night, or $70 per semester (checks to “Setauket Presbyterian Church” or “SPC”).

Confirmation Class

If your family missed the confirmation orientation meeting and would still like to participate in the 2017-18 process for your and their families, please contact DCE Marie Zupka-Ludder for registration and program details. Confirmation has its own calendar, and usually meets on Sundays after Fellowship time (from 11-noon).

Young Adults

Young adults are invited to participate in any of the church activities, fellowship, adult ed, committees. Highlighted are the mission opportunities: helping at the Soup Kitchen or at meal preparation, at the Open Door Exchange, going to NYC on Breakfast Runs.

Opportunities at Holmes Camp or other locations are researched on request; ask a pastor, the Director or Christian Education, or contact the church office. We will even help you make your own opportunities.

There are some great opportunities for young adults to serve — see the PC(USA) Young Adult Volunteer program. Feb 1 is the deadline for international service applications, and May 1 is the annual deadline for the program. Here’s a message from the YAV program:

″The Young Adult Volunteer program is a yearlong service opportunity for young people, ages 19-30, in 21 sites across the United States and around the world. The YAV year occurs from August through July.

It is our goal to place as many young people as possible into a transformational year of service. Would you please share each to encourage young people to apply?

Following @yavprogram on all major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) is a great way to receive programmatic insights as current YAVs are taking over the account. We also have a short (3 min) promotional video that can be accessed online here. Please share!″
